# Absolute Pitch Piano

> Web application with 6 interactive games to develop absolute pitch (perfect pitch). Available in Portuguese, English, and Spanish across three dedicated domains. Progressive Web App with offline support, social ranking system, and AI-powered multilingual comment translations. Currently free to use. Built for music students, musicians, and educators.

## About

Absolute Pitch Piano is a gamified ear training platform created by Bernardo Baeta (solo developer). It teaches absolute pitch recognition through progressive difficulty levels, from beginner to advanced chromatic training. The app uses a real piano interface with authentic sound samples.

The project launched in April 2025 and receives updates multiple times per week. It currently has active users across 3 languages and a social ranking system with threaded discussions. User comments are automatically translated between Portuguese, English, and Spanish using AI (Claude API).

Users earn achievement badges as they progress (17 badges across 7 tiers covering Classic, Chromatic, Memory and Missing Note games). Each user has a public profile with an Identity Card, stats and rankings modules, social activity timeline, and a multilingual bio (auto-translated PT/EN/ES). Music schools and study groups can be organized into private group rankings. There is a Founding School Programme with dedicated pages for teachers and schools (/para-escolas/ in Portuguese, /for-music-schools/ in English, /para-escuelas-de-musica/ in Spanish): a school gets a public page under its own brand, a ranking limited to its own students, and a school badge shown beside each student's name. Each page carries a country selector that reports whether that country already has a partner school. The three lists are a partition by language: Portuguese-speaking countries appear only on the Portuguese page, Spanish-speaking ones only on the Spanish page, and every other country only on the English one. Brazil, where the enrolled school is, is therefore listed on the Portuguese page. The founding badge is purely chronological — first by date — and confers no exclusivity or representation. One school is enrolled so far.

The app has a mascot, Diapasão (a tuning fork with eyes and a round blue mouth), who narrates the YouTube videos and, since September 2026, also speaks inside the app at different moments of the journey, with a lip-synced mouth and a written transcript of each line.

- Actionable feedback bar (four level-based games): tapping the status strip above the keyboard performs the action its message is asking for — start level, next round, repeat notes — and nothing when it is not asking for one. The original buttons remain and are the only keyboard/screen-reader path.

- In-App Tips: short cards woven into the community feed (one every three items, rotating) and a "tip of the day" panel beside the feed on desktop. They surface features most people never discover — playing with the computer keyboard, connecting a MIDI keyboard, opening the interactive statistics cards, installing the app. Tips the user already uses are suppressed automatically; each can be dismissed individually, and the whole set can be switched off in the feed settings.
